About Auditel
Auditel is the UK and Ireland's leading network of independent cost management consultants. We pioneered our service back in 1994 when the energy and communications markets we deregulated and UK business were suddenly faced with a myriad of suppliers and pricing structures to choose from.
Initially we specialised in these deregulated markets acting as outsourced members of our clients’ management teams to help them make informed decision and manage their overhead expenditure. Over the intervening 16 years our portfolio of expertise has grown to include other areas such as water, waste, business consumables, HR, premises overheads, finance, and insurance. We began franchising our unique business system in 1997 and now have over 200 franchisees and over 3,200 clients across the UK.
Working on a no-win, no-fee basis and with the vast knowledge base of the network at their disposal, our consultants are exceptionally well-equipped to audit the full range of a company’s expenditure – however large or small. The in-depth and detailed analysis that they undertake can reveal very significant savings, both retrospectively and into the future.
Unlike traditional cost consultants, brokers and agents , we don't just focus on cutting prices in the short-term by switching to the supplier that offers the lowest headline price. Instead, we use a comprehensive four-step process to analyse a client's expenditure profile, obtain rebates against historical billing errors and manage the total long-term cost of their business overheads. This means addressing not just the figure on their bill at the end of every month, but also the value and suitability of the products and services they are buying and the hidden, indirect costs of managing overheads.
The BFA is the official trade body responsible for setting ethical standards in franchising. Its website, www.thebfa.org, offers a wealth of information and advice for potential franchisees. There are three different levels of membership depending on how long a franchise has been operating in the UK:
It isn't compulsory to join the BFA and there are many good franchises that are not members. However, if the company you are investigating is not a member, you should ask them why. Auditel obtained full membership in 1998.
David is Auditel’s longest-established franchisee and in 2005 he reached the landmark achievement of invoicing his one millionth pound. Ten years earlier, however, it was a very different picture. David had been made redundant after many years in manufacturing General Management and was looking around for an alternative to the corporate world. Read more ...
