Two-day event celebrates successes and outlines opportunities for the future
On 22nd & 23rd June, Auditel held their combined ‘Supplier Exhibition’ and ‘National Conference’ events, at Coombe Abbey Hotel, near Coventry. The backdrop of the stunning 12th-century former monastery coupled with glorious summer weather set a wonderful scene for the two-day event that brought together the majority of the Auditel Member Firm network, plus employees and partners, in a celebration of achievement and outlining of forward-thinking developments.
The Supplier exhibition event, hosted in a giant marquee enabled Auditel Consultants to learn about service offerings, industry developments and to discuss current or forthcoming projects, as well as to network more broadly. For some of the network it was their first such event, and provided eye-opening insight and great value.
That evening a ‘black tie’ event saw a wonderful drinks and dinner sitting precede the presentation of 2023 Auditel Awards. Congratulations were made to the finalists before the following award winners were announced:
- Newcomer of the Year: Julie Adams
- Highest Performance (Practice): Connect Consultancy
- Highest Performance (Individual): Gillian Gibbon
- Consultant (Franchisee) of the Year: Gordon Brearley
- Consultant’s Consultant of the Year: Sean Connaughton
The evening was rounded off with music and dancing, and the opportunity for the network to engage in person, when so much more interaction has been virtual.
The following morning, any fuzzy heads were soon relieved by the lavish hotel breakfast, and the network gathered at 9:30am for MD Chris Aston’s welcoming address. Hailing the network’s progression in the past 12 months, both in remarkable performance development and the escalation of Auditel services, tools and successes, Aston welcomed a series of Auditel Partners to the stage to present client case studies of varying scales, to highlight the diversity of successes in both carbon and procurement projects.
Subsequent sessions outlined future plans, of which the network shared individual and group ideas on Auditel’s continued evolution, especially as the carbon sector journey continues to open exciting new opportunities in which Auditel can expand into in the months and years ahead.
A particular highlight was the excellent short presentations delivered by each of Sean Connaughton, Julie Adams, David Wilshin and Mark Appleton who shared their own progress in respect of client acquisition, highlighting the diversity of approach routes and Auditel resources that have helped them to secure growing numbers of clients in each of their respective businesses.
Fuelled with ideas and enthusiasm, the event was brough to a close with guest speak Martin Baxter from IEMA, who outlined the growing challenges of climate change and the opportunities and future directions that governments and organisations are taking, all of which confirms that Auditel are very much ‘front and centre’ of perhaps the most important issues facing business and society in the years and decades ahead.
A hectic but powerful couple of days was brought to a close, and for new Partners joining Auditel in the month’s ahead, the 2024 Conference event will be a key date in next year’s diary.
